Tumblr Pagan "Community"

What's amusing/confusing me right now is that everyone still seems to be entertaining the delusion that there is a community.

I'm sorry, y'all. There isn't -- much as I might wish otherwise. We're a collective of individuals with sometimes violently different opinions, some of whom hive off into cliques. 

It's high school on the internet, and the only thing we really have in common is that we all use Tumblr.

Yeah, I only use the word "community" as a shorthand but I should stop that because no, it's not an actual community.

This was brought on by posts in the #pagan about "community problems" and how we as a "Tumblr pagan community" need to deal with them.

I admire the person's willingness to wade into rancid bullshit up to her chin, rally everybody around, and try to fix the problems that make the supposed community less pleasant. To me that showed honor and fortitude.

Unfortunately it also showed criminal naïveté.
